The main task of the Communication Officer (CO) is to provide the public, NPH International and the fundraisers in the United States and Europe with any required information. The responsibilities of the CO include the NPH home's annual country report, quarterly home updates, website articles, calendar and directory updates and photos.
The CO needs the necessary skills to operate the NPHI intranet, intermediate computer skills, solid English writing ability and native country language skills (Spanish). Experience in journalism and photography is an advantage, as is some graphic design experience and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
The CO is also the photojournalist of the home, documenting all home events, including graduations, public relation events, holidays (Easter, Christmas, New Year´s), special days (Visitors´ Day, quinceañeros, baptisms, First Holy Communions, retreats, etc.). The CO also periodically accompanies the home's Social Worker to report on where our children come from. The CO is responsible for uploading recent photos of all categories to the photo gallery on the NPHI intranet, writing photo captions and publishing the best photos to the website.
The main task of the Visitor Coordinator is receiving groups and individuals that visit NPH whether they are people that stay on site for an extended period of time or just pass through during the day. The possible visitors might be child sponsors (godparents), ex-volunteers, mission groups or simply a person with an interest in getting to know NPH better.
The coordinator will organize everything related to their stay and generally make them feel comfortable and welcomed while being in our home.
This volunteer must be responsible, friendly, with excellent organization skills.
- Coordinate and organize visits
- Communicate with the visitor(s) prior to the arrival in order to prepare a schedule
- Organize transportation, accommodation and food
- Pick visitors up from the airport and accompany them back
- Clean the visitor's house
- Guide tours of the home
- Organize visitor activities, excursions and working projects
- Assure the visitor's well-being while staying with us
- 21 years or older
- Fluent in English and proficient in spoken Spanish
- Intermediate computer skills

- Well organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects

Working hours are as follows: Monday through Friday, 8.00 – 18.00 with one hour lunch break from 13.00 – 14.00. On free weekends the working week lasts until Thursday 13.00.
